The Ashdown SX-5H is a compact 5-watt all-tube guitar amp head built for players who want real valve response in a practical, lower-wattage format. With a JJ Electronics ECC83 preamp tube, JJ Electronics EL84 output valve, genuine Accutronics reverb, effects loop, aux input, speaker-emulated recording output, and 8 ohm / 16 ohm speaker outputs, the SX-5H gives guitarists classic tube feel with useful modern features for home, studio, rehearsal, and small-stage use.
The SX-5H delivers up to 5 watts of output from a JJ Electronics EL84 valve, paired with a JJ Electronics ECC83 preamp tube for warm, responsive tube character. Its single-channel layout keeps the amp straightforward, while bass, middle, treble, and master volume controls provide simple, musical tone shaping.
The SX-5H includes a genuine Accutronics reverb block, series effects loop, aux input for backing tracks, and a speaker mute switch for silent recording that activates the headphone output. The recording output is filtered to simulate the response of a Celestion Alnico speaker, making the amp useful for quiet practice and direct recording setups.
