Here's how we define and support non-"factory new" gear at ECGMusic. We keep it simple: straight talk on quality, warranty, and what protection is included.
What is B-Stock at ECGMusic?
B-Stock (Special Buy) units are fully functional instruments we purchase directly from the manufacturer or distributor at a preferred price. Often there's no noticeable cosmetic issue — the lower price reflects that the maker's long-term warranty/servicing has been removed for this unit. Every B-Stock piece is QC-inspected and play-tested by ECGMusic before listing.
Our B-Stock Support
- 30-day functionality guarantee from delivery (electronics, playability, structural integrity).
- Cosmetics: if a minor blemish exists, we disclose it; cosmetic items aren't defects.
- Buyer pays return shipping on B-Stock warranty returns.
Surebright Protection (Included on ECGMusic B-Stock)
To extend coverage beyond our 30-day window, we include a Surebright plan on B-Stock guitars we sell. It adds protection where maker warranties typically don't apply.
- Mechanical/electrical breakdowns after the maker's warranty period.
- Power-surge protection (for electronic components).
- Accidental handling coverage options (drops/impacts and certain spill/humidity incidents), per plan.
- Parts & labor for covered repairs; if not repairable, replacement or reimbursement per plan terms.
Coverage availability and exclusions vary by product/plan. Claims are filed through Surebright; ECGMusic can assist. Full plan terms are provided after purchase.
What is Certified Open Box?
Certified Open Box (a demo, studio sample, or brief evaluation unit) is fully functional, not "factory fresh." We test and verify it to manufacturer spec before sale. Any cosmetic notes are disclosed.
What is Used?
Used items have prior ownership and history. We inspect and test functionality before listing. Any cosmetic or non-stock mods are described in the listing.
