Shipping & Order Processing
Quick summary
- Contiguous U.S.: Free Economy shipping on orders $50+; $7.95 flat under $50. Exclusions apply (see Oversize/Heavy & Partner Fulfillment).
- Processing time: Most orders ship within 1–3 business days; drop-ships and peak periods may take longer (we’ll email updates).
- Pickup: Free in-store pickup in El Cajon.
- Local delivery: Available within ~10 miles when shown at checkout.
- Outside contiguous U.S. & International: Billed at actual carrier rates (no free shipping). Quotes shown at checkout or by request.
Order Processing Times
- Most in-stock items ship within 1–3 business days (Mon–Fri, excluding holidays).
- Some items ship directly from the manufacturer or distributor (drop-ship). These may require extra handling time; we’ll email if timing exceeds 3 business days.
- During peak periods (holidays, big sale days) please allow extra time—we’re a two-person shop and will communicate any delays.
- Orders flagged by our fraud-prevention system may require address/ID verification, which can add 1 business day.
In-Store Pickup

- Select Pick up at checkout. We’ll email when your order is ready (often same or next business day).
- Please bring your order confirmation and a photo ID.
Local Delivery
- Available to addresses within ~10 miles of our shop.
- If eligible, Local delivery appears at checkout with timing and cost.
- We’ll email when your order is out for delivery; someone should be available to receive it.
U.S. Shipping Methods & Rates

Contiguous U.S. (48 states):
- Economy (Best Way): Free $50+, $7.95 under $50. We may ship via UPS, USPS, FedEx, or similar at our discretion.
- Need a specific service or faster option? Contact us for a quote.
- Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico & U.S. Territories: Not eligible for free shipping; actual carrier rates shown at checkout or by quote.
Shopify Collective & Multi-Origin Shipping (Read Me)
Some items are fulfilled by partner brands via Shopify Collective and may ship directly from the manufacturer/distributor. When your cart contains items from multiple locations (our shop + a partner), shipping charges may be calculated separately for each shipment and added together at checkout.
- Our Free $50+ / $7.95 under $50 applies to items shipping from our store within the contiguous U.S.; partner-fulfilled items may have separate shipping charges and are not guaranteed to qualify for our free-shipping offer.
- Partner items may ship separately and follow the partner’s handling times and carrier restrictions. Some partners do not ship to certain regions (including outside the U.S.). If a partner cannot fulfill to your address, we’ll contact you with options or refund in full.
- If combined shipping becomes cost-prohibitive, we may adjust or cancel part/all of the order with a full refund.
Oversize / Heavy / Excluded Items
Some products are not eligible for free shipping because they are heavy, bulky, or require special handling. Examples include:
- Heavy guitar/bass amplifiers and large cabinets (e.g., 2×12, 4×12)
- Studio desks & large stands, acoustic/sound panels
- Large/flight/road cases, certain racks & hardware
- Other items designated Oversize/Heavy on the product page
For these items:
- Shipping is billed at actual carrier rates (or freight) and may require a custom quote.
- If checkout cannot calculate an accurate rate, we will contact you with options before shipping. If a quoted cost is not acceptable, you can cancel for a full refund.
- We reserve the right to adjust or cancel an order if the ship-to address results in cost-prohibitive charges; we’ll notify you and offer alternatives.
International Shipping (Case-by-Case)
- We ship internationally by quote at actual carrier cost—email info@ecgmusic.com with your address and cart.
- Duties/VAT/import fees are not included and are the buyer’s responsibility.
- We ship DAP (Delivered At Place); we do not mark down values or mark items as gifts.
- Brand/region restrictions: Some manufacturers do not allow export or refuse to ship to certain locations. If a maker declines or cannot ship to your address, we’ll notify you and refund in full.
- Materials restrictions (e.g., certain woods) may limit destinations.
Drop-Ship Limitations
For items that ship from the manufacturer, fulfillment is subject to their stock, lead times, and shipping policies (some will not ship to PO boxes, AK/HI/PR, APO/FPO, or outside the U.S.). If a manufacturer cannot fulfill to your address, we’ll contact you with alternatives or refund in full.
Tracking, Delivery & Signature
- You’ll receive a tracking email once your order ships.
- High-value items (e.g., guitars) may require a signature at delivery.
- If a package is marked delivered but missing, notify the carrier and us within 48 hours.
Damage or Missing Items
- Please inspect your order on arrival. If anything is damaged, photograph the box and contents and contact us within 48 hours at info@ecgmusic.com. Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved.
Address Changes & Undeliverable Packages
- If you entered the wrong address, contact us immediately. Once shipped, rerouting may incur carrier fees.
- Refused/undeliverable packages may be returned; reship charges will apply.
Split Shipments
To get your order to you faster, items may ship separately (especially drop-ships).
Carrier Delays & Force Majeure
Transit times and delivery estimates are provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed. We cannot be responsible for delays caused by common carriers or events outside our control (weather, natural disasters, strikes, peak-season backlogs, customs inspections, etc.).
Right to Refuse or Cancel Orders
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to refuse, limit, or cancel any order at any time, including for suspected fraud, pricing/shipping errors, stock or availability issues, unsafe or undeliverable addresses, export restrictions, or cost-prohibitive shipping. If we cancel, you’ll receive a full refund to your original payment method.
Policy Changes & Rate Updates
Carrier rates and surcharges can change without notice. We reserve the right to modify this Shipping & Order Processing policy at any time, including thresholds, services, and eligible regions. The version posted on this page at the time of purchase will apply to your order.
