About the Revolution Series (per Bedell Guitars)
Bedell's Revolution dreadnought is built around a problem most builders avoid: cocobolo is so dense it sinks in water, and a heavy back and sides normally make a guitar slow to respond. Bedell's answer is to sand each cocobolo back to a specified target weight, then hand-tune the instrument so the back's resonant frequency sits several half steps above the top, with the bracing and tone bars carved until the whole surface is tuned to the same frequency throughout. The result is a dreadnought with rosewood-family depth and Adirondack headroom that still responds like a much lighter guitar.

What does the LR Baggs Anthem do? It blends an internal microphone with an undersaddle transducer. The soundhole controls give you volume, a mic/pickup mix, and a phase switch, so you get a natural acoustic sound on stage without feedback problems.
Why cocobolo instead of rosewood? Cocobolo is a true rosewood (Dalbergia) with a big, round low end and a golden shimmer in the grain. It is denser than East Indian rosewood, which is exactly why Bedell weight-tunes the back on this model.
