The Casio CT-S500 takes the slim, portable Casiotone design and loads it with real arranger features: 800 AiX tones, 243 rhythms with auto-accompaniment, an arpeggiator, registration memory, a built-in audio sampler, and Bluetooth audio and MIDI right out of the box. It runs on batteries or AC power and weighs about 10 lb, so it's as easy to bring to a gig as it is to leave set up at home.
The AiX sound engine starts you on a big, expressive German concert grand, and the tone library covers electric pianos, organs, strings, synths, and vintage keyboard recreations, including classic Casio VL, VZ, and CZ series sounds. Three knobs give you hands-on control of modulation, filter, EQ, and effects while you play, and you can save layered and split setups as registrations for instant recall.
