Cort Action Bass V Plus 5-String Active Bass Guitar – Black

Cort Action Bass V Plus 5-String Active Bass Guitar – Black

The Cort Action Bass V Plus brings the extended range of a 5-string design to the Action Series platform, pairing it with an onboard 2-band active EQ for a versatile, stage-ready instrument. The low B string opens up a wider tonal range for modern bass playing — whether you're covering low-end fundamentals in a dense mix, exploring extended chord voicings, or simply want the added flexibility of five strings without stepping up to a larger body or longer scale.

Pickup Configuration and Active EQ

The Cort Powersound JJ-style pickup set uses two single-coil Jazz-style pickups for a clear, articulate tone with strong note definition across all five strings. The 2-band active EQ gives you direct control over bass and treble at the instrument, letting you dial in the right balance for the room or the recording without relying solely on your amp.

Neck and Fingerboard

A Hard Maple neck provides the stiffness needed to keep a 5-string properly tensioned and resonant. The Jatoba fingerboard has a 15.75-inch (R400) radius and 24 frets, giving you comfortable access across the full range of the instrument. White dot inlays keep the board clean and easy to navigate.

Body and Hardware

The Poplar body is lightweight and balanced, helping to offset the added mass of the fifth string without making the instrument feel unwieldy. The Cort EB6 5-string bridge provides solid string anchoring and straightforward setup. Die-cast tuning machines hold tune reliably. All hardware is finished in chrome. The Black finish is clean and versatile.
