Stripped-Down, Aggressive Modern Polara with Higher Output
The Guild Polara Night Edition in Vintage Walnut is a no-nonsense solid body electric built for modern rock, alternative, and heavier tones. Featuring a solid mahogany body and set-neck construction, ebony fingerboard, and higher-output HB-2+ uncovered humbuckers with Alnico V magnets, this double-cutaway delivers aggressive punch and sustain with vintage edge. The satin open-pore Vintage Walnut finish and all-black hardware create a dark, purposeful aesthetic, while the Guild Tune-o-matic bridge and string-through-body design ensure maximum string transfer and resonance.
The Night Edition strips away unnecessary features to focus on what matters: tone, playability, and attitude. The solid mahogany body provides warm, resonant low end with excellent sustain, while the set-neck construction enhances harmonic complexity and upper fret access. The Vintage Soft U neck profile offers comfortable playability for extended sessions, and the 24 ¾" scale length provides familiar feel with slightly reduced string tension. This is a guitar built for players who demand modern power without sacrificing vintage character.
HB-2+ Humbuckers: Higher Output, More Punch
The Guild HB-2+ uncovered humbuckers feature Alnico V magnets for higher output and more aggressive midrange punch compared to standard Polara pickups. These pickups deliver thick, saturated overdrive tones with excellent clarity and definition, while still responding dynamically to your playing touch. Whether you're digging into crunchy rhythm parts, soaring leads, or clean chord work, the HB-2+ pickups provide the tonal firepower modern players demand. The uncovered design adds visual aggression while allowing the pickups to breathe and resonate freely.
Mahogany Body Resonance & Set-Neck Sustain
The solid mahogany body delivers warm, resonant tone with rich low-end response and excellent sustain. Mahogany's natural warmth balances the higher output of the HB-2+ pickups, creating thick, musical overdrive that never sounds harsh or brittle. The set-neck construction enhances sustain and harmonic complexity, while the string-through-body design maximizes string transfer for improved resonance and tonal clarity. The satin open-pore finish allows the wood to breathe naturally, contributing to the guitar's organic, responsive feel.
Playability & Comfort
The 24 ¾" scale length provides comfortable playability with slightly reduced string tension, making bending easier and fretting more comfortable. The Vintage Soft U neck profile offers substantial feel without being overly chunky, providing excellent support for chord work and lead playing alike. The ebony fingerboard delivers smooth, fast playability with excellent sustain and a tight, focused tonal response. The double-cutaway design provides unrestricted access to all 22 frets, making this guitar equally capable for rhythm and lead work.
Night Edition: Stripped Down, All Business
The Night Edition aesthetic is all about focus and aggression. The satin open-pore finish enhances resonance while providing a natural, unfinished feel. All-black hardware—including the tuners and bridge—creates a dark, purposeful look that matches the guitar's sonic character, and the uncovered HB-2+ humbuckers round out the look. Higher-output pickups deliver more punch than the standard Polara, making this guitar designed specifically for modern rock, alternative, and heavier tones. This is the Polara for players who want maximum impact with minimum distraction.

Why Buy From ECG Music?
ECG Music is an authorized Guild dealer and a small, owner-operated shop. Before a guitar ships, Frank goes over it by hand: tuning and intonation checked with a Peterson strobe tuner, every fret checked for dead notes, and a close inspection of the finish, hardware, and playability. If something isn't right, it doesn't go out the door.
Guitars ship free nationwide. Optional Surebrite shipping insurance and extended warranty coverage are available.
