The Hagstrom Nekromant 5 in Black Gloss is a 5-string bass built for players who want powerful output, precise control, and unmistakable single-cut styling. Its 34-inch scale and all-mahogany construction deliver a solid, resonant foundation that stays clear and defined under heavy gain.
Two calibrated Hagstrom Gehenna passive soapbar humbuckers provide warmth, balance, clarity, and authority. Run the bass in passive mode for a direct pickup response, or engage the onboard preamp for broader tone shaping.
The control layout includes master volume, pickup blend, treble cut/boost, middle cut/boost, bass cut/boost, an active/passive switch, adjustable preamp gain, and a dedicated 9-volt battery compartment.
The asymmetrical single-cut mahogany body is joined to a mahogany mortise-and-tenon set neck for stability, resonance, and sustain. Hagstrom’s custom CNC-machined brass bridge uses roller saddles to support efficient energy transfer, accurate adjustment, and a strong, focused response across the instrument.
A Resinator fingerboard with a 15-inch radius provides a smooth, consistent playing surface, while pearloid block inlays give the Nekromant a distinctive visual identity. A Graph Tech Black Tusq XL nut and Hagstrom 22:1 die-cast tuning machines support dependable tuning and precise adjustment.
