The West Coast Woods Walnut Tenor is Kala's all-solid statement piece: highly figured solid walnut on the top, back and sides, finished in gloss and bound in flame maple. Walnut sits between mahogany and koa tonally, warm and full with a strong, clear attack, and because the whole body is solid wood it opens up and gets richer the more it's played.

Two details set it apart from the usual tenor. A side sound port aims some of the instrument's voice straight up at the player, so you hear every note clearly without leaning over the soundhole. And a smooth maple armrest rounds off the edge where your forearm rests, which makes long practice sessions and gigs a lot more comfortable.

The neck is mahogany with Kala's slim luthier profile, capped with an ebony fingerboard and 18 frets on a 17" tenor scale. Ebony bridge, bone nut and saddle, real abalone rosette, and Kala Elite closed-gear gold tuners with ebony buttons finish it off. Strung with Kala's Revelator tenor set, two wound D'Addario strings and two Worth Brown fluorocarbons, for a balanced, articulate voice right out of the bag.

Includes a Kala padded gig bag.
