French Design. Manouche Soul.
The Lâg Swing SL200 Petite Bouche Gypsy Jazz Guitar brings the unmistakable sound and feel of the French Manouche tradition to a refined, performance-ready instrument. Inspired by the guitars associated with Django Reinhardt, the SL200 combines an oval soundhole, long 670 mm scale and traditional Gypsy Jazz hardware with the consistency and adjustability modern players expect.
Available now from ECGMusic.com, an authorized Lâg Guitars dealer. A fitted semi-rigid gig bag is included.
Focused Attack, Clarity and Projection
The solid spruce top produces the fast response, crisp attack and articulate note separation that define the petite bouche sound. Rosewood back and sides add depth and balance while preserving the punch and projection needed for driving la pompe rhythm, cutting ensemble work and expressive lead playing.
The high-gloss natural finish highlights the character of the woods and gives the SL200 an elegant appearance worthy of its French-inspired heritage.
Authentic Gypsy Jazz Construction
The SL200 incorporates the traditional features players expect from a Manouche-style guitar: a petite bouche oval soundhole, movable rosewood bridge, metal tailpiece, zero fret and openwork slotted headstock. Its extended 670 mm scale contributes to the firm string tension, immediate response and strong projection associated with this style.
A mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard provide a comfortable playing surface for rapid chord changes and articulate single-note runs. The 45 mm bone nut offers additional room for clean fretting, while the dual-action truss rod allows dependable neck adjustment over time.
Ready for the Right Sound
Lâg equips the SL200 with Savarez Argentine 1510MF strings in an 11–46 gauge—the classic choice for achieving the bright attack and quick response of authentic Gypsy Jazz. Precise die-cast tuners provide dependable tuning while retaining the traditional appearance of the slotted headstock.
