Peavey 6505 1992 Original 120W 2-Channel Guitar Amplifier Head

The amp that built modern metal. The Peavey 6505 — born in 1992 as the 5150, developed with Edward Van Halen — is the reference high-gain tube head. This 1992 Original is Peavey's 30th-anniversary re-creation of that first-year amp: the same aggressive voicing, the same saturated lead channel, and the same tight, percussive attack heard on decades of records and stages.

120 watts of 6L6GC power, a five-tube 12AX7 preamp, and a custom-wound output transformer. The Rhythm channel runs from clean to crunch with dedicated Bright and Crunch switches; the Lead channel is pure saturation with its own Pre- and Post-Gain. Channel switching and the effects loop are both footswitchable.
