Why Six?
A diatonic harmonica plays in one key. No slide, no switch — if the song's in D and you've got a C harp, you're out. These six cover the overwhelming majority of what gets called at a blues jam or a country gig: C, G, and A handle most first- and second-position playing, while D, F, and B♭ get you into the horn keys and open up cross-harp against the rest of the band. Bought one at a time, these six run noticeably more than the set.
The Harmonica Itself
The Bluesmaster is Suzuki's workhorse. Phosphor bronze reeds give it a quick, responsive attack that bends clean instead of choking — the thing that separates a real harp from a drugstore one. The ABS comb won't swell, warp, or start leaking air the way a wood comb can after a few humid nights, and the stainless covers still look right after a year of living in a gig bag.

Tap it out on your palm when you're done and store it holes-down so it dries. Don't play right after eating, and never rinse one under the tap. Treated decently, these outlast the band.
