Overview
The Tuller Audio Man of War is an original-design analog distortion, hand-built in small batches by Brent Tuller on California's Central Coast. It isn't a clone of anything. Most drives filter your signal before the gain stage — the Man of War does the opposite. Your guitar hits the gain stage exactly as it comes out of the pickups, and all the shaping happens afterward in a deep, post-gain EQ.
The result is transparent distortion with serious high-gain potential: your guitar still sounds like your guitar, just bigger, thicker and more aggressive. An internal 18V rail gives it plenty of headroom, so notes stay clear and pick attack stays intact even when the gain is way up.
Why Players Love It
- Zero pre-gain tone shaping — the guitar's natural voice goes straight into the drive
- Range from crunchy rhythm grit to saturated, sustaining lead tones
- Boost/cut Bass, Mid and Treble with a sweepable Mid frequency — dial in scooped metal, mid-forward rock, or anything in between
- 18V internal headroom for clarity and punch at high gain
- Hand-built, hand-soldered and hand-wired in small batches

About Tuller Audio
Tuller Audio is a one-man shop. Brent Tuller designs, builds, tests and ships every pedal himself. He grew up around electronics — his dad worked at Collins Radio in the '60s and '70s — and he designs "backwards": he starts with a circuit, sees what it wants to do, and builds from there. He deliberately doesn't build clones or mod other people's designs. Every Tuller pedal is an original analog circuit.
ECG Music is proud to support independent builders like Tuller Audio. Every pedal is checked here before it ships.
